Application Procedures for Police Officers and Firefighters
The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners appoint successful applicants to the position of Police Officer and Firefighter. This selection process begins with a competitive testing program. Candidates that successfully complete the testing process are listed and ranked according to the number of points earned. The list is good for two years from the date of posting.
The Roselle Police Department holds open, competitive examinations bi-annually to establish lists of persons eligible for appointment to the position of entry level police officer. For the 2018 testing cycle, applications are currently available online, and the application deadline is August 23, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. Details, including starting salary, competitive benefits package, eligibility requirements, and how to obtain the POWER Test ID Card required for applying, are included in the Roselle Police Department recruitment flyer.
