The 23rd Annual Sternberg Lighting Run For the Roses, benefiting the Tourette Syndrome Association and theTourette Syndrome Camping Organization will be held Sunday, June 4. The 5K run/walk will begin at Clauss Recreation Center, 555 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. at 8:00 a.m., followed by the 0.6K youth run at 9:00 a.m.
This year is the year to break records. $1,000 prize money will be awarded for the top male to break the course record of 15:12.3 and the top female to break 16:29.3. Teams can compete for cash prizes as well: five-member male, female and mixed teams will compete for $400 for the winners in each category.
This event, jointly sponsored by Sternberg Lighting, Mark Drugs of Roselle, Dick Pond, the Roselle Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Roselle Park District, and the Village of Roselle, also includes free child-care, pony rides, a petting zoo, food vendors, and more.
