Special Storm Damage Branch Pickup Scheduled

Special Branch Pickup

Many Village of Roselle homeowners have damaged and downed tree branches on private property caused by the heavy snow and high winds during last week’s snowstorm. The Village is offering a special storm related branch pickup starting December 10. This work will be performed by Roselle Public Works and additional contracted service providers.

Important Special Storm Damage Branch Pickup Details:

  • Please have your branches at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, December 10.
  • Storm Damage Only  This special pickup is for storm related damage only. Contractor generated branches will not be collected.
  • Cost  This service is being provided free of charge and will not require a refuse sticker.
  • One Time Pick-Up  Collection of all branches may take several weeks; however, crews will only go through neighborhoods one time for branch pickup. Crews will not return if branches are not at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on December 10.
  • Public Works vs Contractor Planned Work – Public Works crews will continue to focus on trimming parkway trees that were damaged, while the contractor will focus on picking up branch materials that homeowners have placed in the parkway.
  • Frozen Snow and Residual Twigs – There are many areas where branches and twigs may be frozen in the snow. We will do our best to remove the branches in these areas. As snow melts, residual twigs may remain in the parkway. The twigs will be the responsibility of the homeowner to clean up.
  • Parkway Tree Damage – If you have a parkway tree that was damaged during the storm that has not yet been trimmed, please submit a request on-line at

Branch Preparation Guidelines:

  • Branch piles must be neatly stacked and must not exceed 4 foot high.  Please do not tie branches together.
  • Branch cut ends must face the curb. Please make sure branches do not block the sidewalk.
  • Branch size must not exceed 4 feet in length and 6 inches in diameter. Please cut branches so they are no heavier than 50-pound sections.
  • Stumps & root balls are not allowed.
  • Other Materials Not Allowed  We will not pick up materials such as construction wood, branches with nails or spikes, or wood fence pieces.

Thank you for your patience as we work through the areas of the Village to clean up the storm damage. If you have any questions, please call Public Works at 630-980-2020.
