A trio of construction projects are slated to begin on Main Street in Roselle starting October 1. The projects include a parking lot addition, streetlight installations, and work for the 2018 Curb/Gutter/Sidewalk Replacement Projects. These projects were all included in the Village's 2018 budget. The grassy property on Main Street adjacent to Starbucks that was donated to the Village is being converted into 10 parking spaces, with construction expected to be completed by early November. In addition to creating extra parking, the curb line is being moved at this location to create a wider lane to better facilitate moving traffic. The Main Street lighting project will add 12 street lights to the south side of Main Street between Howard Street and Spring Street. Not only will the installation address lighting issues, the decorative poles will match the already existing poles on Main Street, creating a more cohesive look and feel by extending the streetscape brand in Roselle’s Town Center.Curb and gutter work is also slated for the south side Main Street between Park Street and Howard Avenue. Periodic parking restrictions will be posted during the day (7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) as required during construction. This project is also expected to conclude in early November, weather permitting.
