The Village of Roselle, IL (population 22,760) seeks a full-time Street Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department. Roselle is located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. The position works 40 hours a week performing all activities associated with snow-ice control, asphalt and concrete repair, maintenance of parkway tree population, lawn maintenance, storm sewer cleaning and repair, street light repair and other assigned activities.
Applicants for this position must possess: knowledge of operating equipment and tools such as chipper, chain saw, end-loader, backhoe and snow and ice control equipment; knowledge of applicable traffic and safety rules; ability to follow and understand oral instructions and perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time, occasionally under adverse weather conditions; a high school diploma or GED; and, a current and valid Illinois motor vehicle operator's license with a CDL endorsement (or capable of acquiring CDL endorsement within six months of hire). The ideal candidate will have two years of experience with snow/ice control and possess a certification as a Certified Arborist from the International Society of Arboriculture. The full-time position is responsible for working 40 hours a week with the expectation of occasional overtime, weekend, and after hours work. The salary range for this position is $45,993 to $63,011.
