The Village of Roselle, IL (population 22,763) seeks a full-time Planner for the Community Development Department. Roselle is located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. This professional staff position assists the Director of Community Development with all aspects of the Village planning and community development process, including the comprehensive plan, zoning, subdivisions, and annexations. This position also serves as a key staff technician, exercising independent technical and professional judgment related to plan reviews, land use management, and economic development activities.

Major responsibilities include staff support to the Planning & Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and processing petitions submitted by developers and members of the general public for redevelopment projects, annexations, subdivisions, re-zonings, special projects and zoning variances. Ideal candidates will possess 2 to 3 years of municipal planning experience with report preparation background and GIS experience. Strong written and oral communications skills are essential. Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or public administration, or related field required. The ideal candidate shall have a Master’s degree in a planning or public administration related field.
The salary range for the position is $52,300-$73,063 and the Village offers comprehensive benefits. Starting salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
