Public Works Manager - Wastewater
The Village of Roselle, Illinois (population 22,763) is seeking to fill the newly created position of Public Works Manager - Wastewater within the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for overseeing the Wastewater Division and providing administrative and general management assistance to the Director of Public Works and the Department of Public Works.
This position is responsible for executive, managerial, and supervisory work directing the overall operations of the Village’s two wastewater treatment plants, eleven lift stations and sanitary collection system. The Public Works Manager manages a team of personnel and resources to efficiently and reliably provide services along with a high level of customer service. Further duties include assisting the Department Director with supervising, planning, organizing, and directing the programs, activities, and operations of the Public Works Department with other departments, divisions, outside agencies, and the general public. Other primary responsibilities include: administrative duties required for the efficient operation of the division; preparation of the division’s fiscal year budget and capital improvement program; preparation and oversight of contractual, maintenance, and construction projects; procurement of public services and capital purchases; and assistance with administering the Department’s safety/risk management program. Graduation from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by a minimum of 10 years of experience in public works operations; minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Possession of a Class I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate, or receipt of one within twelve (12) months with a minimum of a Class II Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's Certificate at the time of application.
