The Village of Roselle's outdoor water usage ordinance is in effect from May 15 through September 15. The watering of lawns, gardens or any outdoor landscaping is not permitted between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Address number ends in an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7, or 9) | Water on odd-numbered days |
Address number ends in an even number (0, 2, 4, 6, or 8) | Water on even-numbered days |
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) requires water conservation in all suburban communities using water from Lake Michigan. These rules apply regardless of rainfall trends and are intended to keep great lakes water sustainable to serve the millions of residents that rely upon this natural resource.
In 1967, a Supreme Court decision declared that any state using Lake Michigan water was required to pass water restrictions to limit the amount of water removed from Lake Michigan. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources instituted guidelines that state that, at a minimum, any town that uses Lake Michigan water must limit the time allowed for water sprinkling between May 15 and September 15. We are extremely lucky to have such a bountiful natural resource at our disposal, but Lake Michigan is not an endless water supply. Please help conserve our natural resources by following the outoor water usage ordinance and finding other ways to reduce your water use.
