How can I find out whether I can open/operate my business in a certain location?
The Village of Roselle Zoning Ordinance limits the ways in which owners of property may utilize their property, so, the best way to determine whether one can open or operate their business is to call Planning & Zoning Staff at (630) 980-2000.

Even so, the Zoning Ordinance limits the ways in which owners of property may utilize their property differently depending upon the location of their property. For example, in residential areas, the Zoning Ordinance prohibits businesses such as offices, restaurants, shops, warehouses, and factories because the layout, noise, traffic, etc. of such businesses would disturb the residential neighborhood in addition to the residents of the neighborhood.

Furthermore, the Zoning Ordinance limits the ways in which owners of properties in nonresidential areas may utilize their property as well in order to promote the health, safety, welfare, and general well-being of the Village. For instance, the Village does not want a warehouse with semi trucks coming and going next to a restaurant where children, seniors, and cars are coming and going.
